LANDMARK LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST SEC TO PROTECT ALL WHISTLEBLOWERS

Jordan Thomas Shortlisted for Plaintiff Attorney of the Year by Benchmark Litigation

Whistleblower Representation Practice Chair Jordan Thomas has been named finalist in Benchmark Litigation’s Plaintiff Attorney of the Year for representing the whistleblowers that were awarded $83 million from the SEC’s Whistleblower Program – the largest in the Program’s history. The whistleblowers provided information to the SEC that led to a landmark $415 million enforcement action against Merrill Lynch. In 2018, Jordan also led the team that secured a $70 million settlement in the Philip Falcone hedge fund tax case. It was the largest ever tax whistleblower recovery in New York state history.

In October, Benchmark recognized Jordan as a “Local Litigation Star.” Benchmark wrote “one of [Jordan’s prior firm’s] biggest developments, and one which has received a significant level of attention from peers, opponents, and the media as of late, is the firm’s ‘whistleblower’ practice, for which credit lies with Jordan Thomas…‘Jordan is a Trailblazer,’ confirms one peer. ‘He will lead . . . into the future.’”

Benchmark will announce its Plaintiff Attorney of the Year on Thursday, February 28 at a ceremony at the Essex House in New York.

Named one of the top whistleblower practices/attorneys in the country by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR and The New Yorker
