LANDMARK LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST SEC TO PROTECT ALL WHISTLEBLOWERS

Whistleblower Clients Earn Largest-Ever Awards

On Monday the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that it will reward its largest awards to-date, $83 million, to a group of whistleblowers represented by the SEC Whistleblower Practice founded by Jordan Thomas. News of these record-breaking awards were featured by The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters UK, USA Today, The National Law Journal, and Law360 among others.

Thomas, Chair of the Whistleblower Practice and one-time Assistant Director in the SEC’s enforcement division, believes that he represents “the very best of Wall Street…[people who] feel vindicated by the SEC’s determination.”

In the Financial Times, Thomas speaks again of his clients’ importance, saying that “without [them] it’s unlikely the SEC would have even known about the wrongdoing.” Rewarded whistleblowers and customers of large corporations are not the only ones thankful for the increased transparency. The Wall Street Journal shared a statement from Bank of America, stating that their “responsibility is to protect customer assets and [they] have dedicated significant resources to reviewing and enhancing [their] processes.”

In a short time Thomas has become the “patron attorney” of whistleblowers; he and his team have created a safe haven for those under pressure from large corporations, and yet he lauds them. “They are a shining example of integrity in action and will inspire others on Wall Street to break their silence and, as a bonus, a substantial part of this life-changing award will be donated to local charities.”
