Defendants/respondent allegedly perpetrated a scheme in which they falsified the books and records of their employer, Micro Warehouse, Inc., leading to a $45 million overstatement of profits to the public over two-and-a-half years. Furman was the company’s chief accounting officer and, in addition to a permanent injunction, he was barred from practicing before the SEC. He was excused from a monetary penalty based on demonstrated inability to pay.
