SEC Recovers Over $300,000 from Three Health Insurance Executives Charged with Insider Trading

Defendant Toussaint, who was in charge of the underwriting department for Employee Benefit Plans, Inc., allegedly tipped defendant Slagle, a friend and business associate, about pending merger negotiations between EBP and First Financial Management Corporation. Slagle traded on the insider information and passed the tip to two of his friends and business associates, including defendant Geigle. Geigle also traded and passed the tip. Defendants’ profits were approximately $200,000.
