The SEC won summary judgment against defendant, former President and CEO of a software company, in this civil injunctive action. Defendant attended a meeting in Westport, Connecticut of software executives from various companies, at which he learned material, non-public information about the earnings of issuer ShowCase Corporation. Then, while in possession of this material, non-public information, defendant sold 8,500 shares of ShowCase, avoiding losses of approximately $45,688.
