SEC Settles Bribery Charges with Former CEO of Kellogg, Brown & Root

Defendant was CEO of Kellogg, Brown & Root, Inc. and took part in a long-running bribery scheme through which a joint venture including KBR secured more than $6 billion in construction contracts to build liquefied natural gas production facilities on Bonny Island, Nigeria. Defendant agreed to a permanent injunction and to cooperate with the SEC’s ongoing investigation. He simultaneously pled guilty to corresponding criminal charges, pursuant to which he was sentenced to pay over $10 million in restitution (and significant jail time).
